Pierre Lafontaine – Excellence at All Levels – Everywhere
Pierre Lafontaine, started his swimming coaching career in 1976 as Assistant Coach for the Pointe-Claire Swim Club.
Pierre has contributed to the advancement and success of swimming throughout his coaching profession. His career spans two continents, and he has coached at four sets of Olympics. Besides coaching he has held administrative roles with Swimming Canada, CIS, Cross Country Canada and Cycling Canada.
Most of these roles have been about the development of a competitive but progressive management structure so that coaches can do whats they do best - create a preformance environment, and the management to facilitate a bold vision including the development a robust governance structure, coaching development and HP support structure so that the athletes can deliver their magic.
He is currently the head coach of Swim Ottawa, head coach of the Carleton Ravens and high-performance coach with Swim PEI.
