Note
Event Description:
Join us for an interactive and engaging NCCP learning session focused on supporting athletes in sport. This workshop will explore practical strategies for recognizing and managing behaviours often associated with ADHD and other neurodivergent experiences, while creating more inclusive and supportive training environments.
Other topics will include, how to schedule and deliver meetings with parents before and during your season, and other better practices for supporting your athletes both on and off the court.
Through discussion and shared experiences, coaches will explore common misconceptions, learn from individuals with lived experience, and exchange strategies that have worked in their own sport settings. Participants will leave with practical ideas, resources, and a stronger understanding of how patience, awareness, and simple environmental adjustments can help all athletes succeed.
Fun fact: Many elite athletes, including Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, and Rory McIlroy, live with ADHD and have spoken openly about how sport helps them channel focus, routine, and success.
